Sale history removed for item in dispute

I bought some boxed chocolates, the advert clearly stated there was a quantity of 20. When got them there were 20 chocolates in 1 box. The price paid for 20 chocs was more than I could have bought 3 whole tubs of the same chocolates.

I went to my E-bay history and the actual sale record has been removed, so I can raise a refund or issue against the item. Though I have all the e-mails around the sale and delivery. I have tried contacting the seller and he says it is my mistake and his advert was right. So why was the record removed.

You should be able to see the item in your purchases - use the link below.

If the item is not there, is it possible you bought without logging into your account?

If so, you should be able to start a return from the email you got from Ebay.

What was the item number?

I bought some boxed chocolates, the advert clearly stated there was a quantity of 20.

To me, that seems to describe a box containg 20 chocolates. Not 20 boxes of chocolates.

Are you sure you didn't just misunderstand the ad?

Re: Sale history removed for item in dispute

The issue is that within minutes of the order being delivered the record of the sale was removed, I cannot raise a dispute against something that according to e-bay never happened.

Despite having several e-mails confirming the order and dispatch with the order no. From e-bay.

Re: Sale history removed for item in dispute

The item was defined as 20 chocolates in a box, the quantity was 20.

20 chocolate retails would been 18.5 times cheaper than the advertised price and I thought this was a wholesaler so the price for 20 boxes made perfect sense.

The fact the transaction has been deleted suggest to me a slick operation.

Re: Sale history removed for item in dispute

Sellers can't delete closed listings - or their own acccounts, whilst the window is open for disputes to be opened aganst them. If a listing is removed after the sale it can only have been removed by eBay. This usually means that it contravenened their rules for listings or that fraud was suspected.

If you're confident of showing that the item was not as described you would need to contact eBay customer support to try to get a money back guarantee case opened.

Alternatively, if you paid by PayPal and are still within the 30 day time limit you could file a dispute under their buyer protection policy. If you funded the payment from a debit or credit card, your card issuer may be able to help - the time limit to claim is much lnger.

@roger101061 what is the item number? When you look at the seller's items, is the listing still active?
