SIMPLE DELIVERY = TOTAL NIGHTMARE

After a drastic drop in sales over the past month , I  at last picked up two sales today BUT found out  ebay's Simple Delivery could not provide a combined postage label  for one customer & wanted me to spend over £6.35 for postage that use to cost me £3.25  "pre" Simple Delivery , Then I excepted an offer on another item only for ebay's Simple Delivery to quote me £13.50 for delivery , when I use to pay £5.21  "pre" Simple Delivery  NO WONDER FOOTFALL/SALES  HAS FALLEN OFF A CLIFF

SD can be a nightmare.

Upgrade to business seller,  no more SD, you chose your own postage method.

How is moving to a business seller an UPGRADE ?  when as explained footfall/sales have disappeared  , how much is it per month you pay ebay for ZERO SALES ? I would sign up today IF I was guaranteed sales but if you look on Down Detector / Youtube this is happening to Business sellers as well  & not just in the UK

I'd upgrade to an eBay business account and then you won't be subject to Simple Delivery or having the extra Buyer Protection Fee added to your listings.

Selling NEW items would automatically  mean you should be registered as a Business Seller, which allows you to avoid the Not So Simple postage, what you would gain would no doubt disappear in fees of various sorts.

Sell for free with no listing or selling fees for private sellers is a big con. Unless sellers pay for promotion fees most items appear to be invisible, and agreeing to a reduced % in place of the suggested rates, up to 13% I have seen, but heard of much higher, produces advice from ebay that increasing the rate will get more views.

That implies without promoting, there will be virtually no views and no sales.

FREE TO SELL IS A JOKE,

Just how much is it for a Business account per month ?

how much do you pay per listing ?

plus do you still need to promote your listings ?

There isn't a monthly fee unless you decide to subscribe to an eBay shop.

Fees are set out here:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling/fees-credits-invoices/fees-business-sellers?id=4809&st=3&pos=3&q...

Once you've sold 30 items eBay report sales to HMRC, who will consider you to be trading as a business anyway (a private seller is one who is just selling off their own personal items such clothes from their wardrobe, bits from their loft/garage etc. ) and you can offset expenses (including eBay fees) if you're a business (you obviously can't offset any at all as a private one).

I've never promoted any of my listings, like you I'm in quite a niche market and buyers will find my items easily enough if they're looking.
