SIMPLE DELIVERY DROP OFF VS COLLECTION ISSUES

As a housebound eBay user simple delivery has been good now its mostly sorted, however one issue can still be a problem.

When I make a sale there is an option to book a collection at right, pick a date and THEN go to print a label on the left.

Firstly I wish the PRINT label was edited to what it really is in this situation CONFIRM COLLECTION/PRINT LABEL.

As when you have booked a collection with post provided label you do not need to make another?

My issue is IF you make a mistake at this point and create a DROP OFF label as you may have rushed there is no way to cancel this label at all.

In the options there is no way to convert or request changing it from drop off to collection.

At this stage if this happens the only option is to book collection outside eBay which is hassle and encores a fee now.

I guess now thought of this option or it complex - the buyer isnt affected it doesnt cost more its just not considered as shown at this point - you are directly to sort outside ebay instead?

If this happens I can write to buyer asking them to cancel due to this reason but that not always possible.

Also as someone who likes to ship next day it can affect your rating if you do not ship in time.

IF I cancel there is no option to offer this reason in the drop down menu.

Damaged  / out of stock or requested to cancel there but not SHIPPING ISSUES or the ability to add a reason?

You then look unprofessional after not being able to pick correct reason and I was deducted funds and expect a demerit?  due to this.

Trying to resolve in eBays AI buffer means humans do not get to discuss or resolve issues IT cannot find a answer for leaving us all worse off......   Open the Pod Bay Doors pleas HAL...sorry Dave I cant do that....

Easiest way to resolve is yo upgrade to business seller.

That way you can select your own carrier & easily combine postage.

Thanks for idea but I am retired in my 60s and do not wish all the hassle of being a business seller being a housebound private seller.

I do not want to absorb the fees for a lifetimes collection and odd bits I am shifting rather than setting up for future.

Simple delivery works for me as I prefer it over choosing my own carrier as I have Royal Mail and would use anyway.

If eBay buyers do not get add to basket or request help id rather all items were covered and tracked by eBay and insured rather than not.

MY issue is not about this but about after a sale paid for my the buyer IF you as a seller make a mistake OR eBay fails you end up with a DROP OFF label that cannot be changed to COLLECTION

I would change nothing about my set up other than the option to covert a paid for label to collection if for ANY reason you might need to after the fact.

I can print all my own labels if I wish but as ROYAL MAIL provide free labels on collection I prefer to take advantage of this service to cut cost overheads as much as possible.

I could arrange a collection after the label is paid for after if this happens... but its small cost and a bit of hassle - becoming a business seller will not fix any of this   cheers anyway
