Hi there.
I'd welcome some advice. I purchased a piece of used audio equipment last week (£155). The seller messaged to say he had forgotten to send the power supply, but did I really need it? Obviously I answered yes, as I cannot use it or check if its working without. He then sent via Amazon a power supply which doesn't fit. I contacted him, politely offering to return the power supply for him to get a refund if he sent me the Q code, but that I did expect the correct power supply as per the listing.
He has sent me a rude email saying he was sure the power supply is correct, but he will order another, but if that isn't right he'll get me to return it for a refund " because you (I) got a bargain" and he have his "fully working item" back. I don't want a refund, just the power supply. Where do I stand? If the one he sends is wrong can I charge him for the purchase of a supply myself and claim it on buyer protection?
Thanks.

Never fails to amaze me the excuses sellers make when trying to wriggle our of a refund.
Ignore all their pleas, message them no more, just proceed this way:
You have received an item not as described, go right of the item in your Purchase History and from More Actions select... Return this item selecting the reason Item Does Not Match Description or Photos.
The seller needs to accept this case within 3 days and refund, if they want their item back first , they need to pay for that fully tracked return postage, then on receipt of their item they have 48 hours to refund you. If they don't , need to escalate the case, ask eBay to step in, and they'll force the refund.
Never listen to any excuse or promise from the seller to close the case early, and do not forget to escalate.

I assume the item was listed with a power supply.
You can't charge the seller for a power lead if you end up buying one yourself - they do seem to have taken steps to resolve your problem and hopefully the one they send now will be right.
If not, the Ebay Money Back Guarantee says you will get the item you bought or your money back.
The seller seems to be saying that if you are not satisfied with the power lead they send this time, then you can exercise your right through Ebay and start a return case.
So, if this power lead is not right, you can buy one yourself or return the item for a refund.
