Return request

Help  please , I’ve recently sent two separate parcels to the same buyer , both with parcel force , one parcel was with the pre paid label printed out with eBay and the other was done manually by the post office staff

Both parcels weighed a combined weight of 40kg so I decided to pay for another shipping label as the lady in the post office said the driver will moan

I said to the lady it’s going to the address that was printed on the first parcel and she proceeded to type in the address manually

unfortunately she has put the wrong door number which is a few doors away

The buyer has no requested a return as they say they’ve not received what they paid for

I’ve been communicating with the buyer and let him know what had happened, I’ve supplied all tracking numbers and shown that  someone at the address has signed for it , the buyer has said he has been to the property several times with no success and has said it looks as though they have gone on holiday ?

What will happen if the parcel hasn’t been collected within the allocated time frame for resolving the return ? Do I ask eBay to step in before the time frame runs out ?

Return request

If the item was sent to a different address than that on the delivery details eBay sent to you,  albeit not your mistake,  it voids eBay's seller protection and you will have to refund your buyer for that item.

Ask the buyer to open a case for item not received accept and refund  in those case details, within 3 days,  that way your seller performance is not affected.

If you have the 2 tracking numbers on the postal receipt clearly showing the wrong door number your fight now is with that PO for compensation for that lost item,  if it is not returned to you.  Hopefully,  you had your name and address on the back ? 🤔
