Refunded before return!

Just after advice.

Did a very silly thing 😒 sold a decent used coat, buyer wasn't happy, requested return. I accepted,  sent an apologetic message, despite disagreeing with condition of coat, then as stressed in work, sent label, misread the info and sent refund. Could kick myself 

Case closed. Rang ebay, they said contact buyer, which I have openly admitted my stupidity and requested return of item. Is there any way I can recoup funds?

The only thing you can do is try to get the buyer to return the item at your expense, but that needs to be done outside ebay and your refund can be taken as you saying 'here's your money back, please keep the item'.
