Received Incorrect Package – Possible Scam

Hi,

I ordered a Nintendo Switch 2 and collected it from my local post office today. I had several orders to pick up, so I didn’t check which QR code matched which order at the time and just collected the packages.

After leaving the post office, I realized that the barcode for the Nintendo Switch 2 order actually matched an 18 × 21 cm padded envelope. I immediately took photos of the package, and it’s obvious that I was scammed (even though the seller has over 1.2k items sold on their profile).

I’m currently trying to contact eBay customer service, but I can’t find the callback option.

I would really appreciate any advice on what I should do next.

Thanks!

Re: Received Incorrect Package – Possible Scam

Not necessarily a scam,  a seller with 1k plus in sales may easily have made an error at this busy Christmas period.

If what you have received,  should be the Nintendo from this seller,  then proceed this way.

You have received an item not as described,  go right of the item in your Purchase History and from More Actions select... Return this item selecting the reason Item Does Not Match Description or Photos.

The seller needs to accept this case within 3 days and refund,  if they want their item back first , they need to pay for that fully tracked return postage, then on receipt of their item they have 48 hours to refund you.  If they don't ,  need to escalate the case,  ask eBay to step in, and they'll force the refund.

Never listen to any excuse or promise from the seller to close the case early,  and do not forget to escalate.

Re: Received Incorrect Package – Possible Scam

This is most likely a scam, as the seller keeps asking me to remove the top label from the package.
Is this a known trick that I’m not aware of?
