Reassuring a seller.

Hi everyone,

I've just bought an item from a private seller. I have payed via Paypal and received the item just today (Monday 17/02/25). The seller seems concerned that they haven't received any payment yet for the item.

When I looked into it I saw that Ebay now only pays the seller 2 calendar days after the item has been delivered. This was news for me too as I haven't used Ebay for quite a while.

I'm not sure if the seller is maybe elderly and doesn't understand the 2 day rule. Is there a way Ebay can reassure the seller they will receive payment?

Thanks,

Ed.

Explain to the seller they should add tracking to where they marked the item as dispatched,  and as you have received your item,  when tracking updates to show delivery , they will receive payment for that item,  2 days after the delivery date.

If they are a new seller they also may be subject to a 21 day hold on the payment.

Thanks for your reply Tressygirl. I re-explained the 2 day wait to the seller and have asked him/her to get back to me if payment doesn't go through. I will then try to contact ebay to sort things if there is still an issue.

Ed.

Reassuring a seller.

Is anyone from Ebay on this forum? I need help with this because the seller is saying they didn't receive the payment for the item I bought and I feel really bad about it.

I just want to chat with a support agent but the Ebay chat window just keeps shutting down or diverting my queries to further AI generated links and I'm going around in circles.
