Private vs Business Fees

Obviously the buyer protection fee issue has caused a caffuffle,  but if I am reading things correctly  a £5 item is going to be listed privately @ £5.95 with seller eventually receiving the £5.

If the private buyer went down the business route the same £5 item listed individually on a BIN would cost seller 30p to list approx 85p FVF a total of £1.15 so seller gets £3.85 ?

Even if it was a multiple listing diluting the 30p list fee the seller would at best get £4.15

So if seller wants to reap the full £5 on a business account he would have to list at approx £6 which near as dammit is what the advertised private price is.

Or am I missing something like a Maths O level ?

Feel a spreadsheet coming

Private vs Business Fees

Business sellers do not have the 75p plus 4% deducted so your figures are a bit out.

Even so comparing selling a £5 item seller would get marginally less. However private sellers would really be aiming at the second hand market and not in direct competition with a business seller, so a comparison is not appropriate.
