Private Seller Extinction (2)

Following replies to my earlier BPF rant, and against my instincts, I took the plunge and decided to convert from private seller to business.  All went well until the verification of bank details where ebay stated it could not verify my bank account.  This despite the fact that it is the same bank and account they are currently using for my private account!

Odd or what?

As a separate issue - is it a forlorn hope that soemone out there is looking at the repeated criticism of this new BPF policy and perhaps reconsidering it as a result of the almost unanimous opposition?

Changing to a business account

If you want to use a business bank account to sell on eBay, you should register as a business account. If you registered as an individual, here's how to switch to a business account:

  1. Go to My eBay and select Account - opens in new window or tab.
  2. Select Personal information, then select Edit next to Account type.
  3. Select Confirm to upgrade to a Business account and fill in the required information.

Once you’ve changed to a business account, you may need to submit additional verification information. If we need to verify any information, we’ll notify you by email and place a banner in Seller Hub letting you know what to do next.

Thank you. Precisely what I did.

The problem arose at the end of the process when ebay were, apparently unable to verify my account, in spite of my having provided all the information requested.  The account is the same account as was verified when I opened my private account.

Have you decided to call your business some sort of trading name, or is your business name exactly the same as on your bank account?

Practically all we can do is suggest possible issues, only ebay can sort this for you.

Generally speaking the transition seems to go smoothly.
