Does anyone know of a UK carrier that will except enhanced insurance on cameras etc, and that aren't really silly rates?
Most I've checked don't seem to accept it at all, and the post office is really high, making what I would like to sell either very high price ( for what it is) or hardly worth bothering with, considering how much I'd get profit.
I would now be very wary about posting without extra insurance after my last --- and still ongoing--- fiasco with Evri that I did pay extra for.
Not a camera, and it was accepted for enhanced insurance. It said it was delivered --- it wasn't. It's taken me weeks so far to try to get a resolution, still ongoing.
So I really don't want to post under insured.
Cheers.
Steve.

I would have thought RM Special delivery with correct compensation would be best.

Evri isn't the most reliable service,so possibly go with royal special delivery, which includes tracking

What is the value of the item you are looking to sell? As others have already said if it’s a piece of photography equipment and the price will be over £150 then special delivery has a basic insurance of £750 but this can be upgraded to£2500. A2kg parcel special delivery by 1 is £13.35 from the post office. These items are segregated and bagged differently to standard mail from the post office. They are sent in post office terms secure mail and are always the first bags with paperwork at the end of the day collection on to the vans.
you won’t lose money if you put the correct postage into your listing in the first place.

Thanks everyone.
The camera's aren't all that valuable, there's two, one about £60 the other about £90.
I have seen the same ones sell and the postage has only been about £3.39 or so.
£13.39 is a fair chunk to take from the selling price, and too much to put as postage.
I was just trying to see if there was a carrier that did enhanced insurance for round about that, or are people posting and just hoping it'll be ok?
I'm very wary now about posting without the proper cover, what with my still ongoing Evri complete fiasco, even though that was covered properly.
Evri has one of the worst customer service depts I've ever come across.
Cheers.
Cheers.

I am afraid that so many sellers have no idea of the risks of just using first/ second class or even signed for, all of which only offer compensation of up to £20.
Scammers look for the £2000 item being send by 2nd class postage as it tells them thst seller is very inexperience.
RM tracked 48 covers up to £150 and has become very popular recently as it is competitive, but I do not know whether there are exceptions to what is accepted.
Just for a laugh, there have been many reported cases of sellers who think Free Postage means it is FREE snd post without stamps.
