Postage refunds

Hi there

i sell quite a bit but still confused over postage.

what if a buyer buys multiple auctions and asks me to combine postage?

I don’t control postage now so cannot send an updated invoice, so do eBay just take all the postage money and leave the buyer out of pocket?

also I’ve had a buyer buys multiple auctions but is collecting from me and has asked me to refund postage?
how am I supposed to manage this?

appreciate advice

thanks

Re: Postage refunds

To combine its best to cancel transactions and relist items on one listing with one postage.

The same with items to be collected.  Cancel and relist as collection so the buyer gets a collection code from ebay to give to you.

Re: Postage refunds

Hi

i I don’t understand why I need to cancel orders after just selling them and go through the rigmarole of relisting and revising, refunding the buyer. This seems a complete mess tbh.

is there not another solution as I’m really not prepared to do all of this extra admin?

why are eBay making everything so much harder for the seller?

I’ve been selling on eBay for 20 years but feel I’m coming to the end of my time on here unless they make things easier. Isn’t this just greed to get all the postage themselves?

Re: Postage refunds

"Simple Delivery" is very inflexible.    The alternative would be to send them together anyway.    Then you should open the unused labels to mark the items as dispatched and see if you can add the one tracking number onto the other items at View Order Details > Postage > Track Package > dropdown arrow.  That has to be done on a desktop browser.    If you don't manage to do that the problem is you won't have proof of delivery for the added items.

If the buyer paid for the unused labels the cost will be automatically refunded to them in 30 days.

Re: Postage refunds

It's one of the most frustrating aspects of Simple Delivery,  that is,  the inability to combine postage.  No idea why it's taking so long to fix,  and no updates if indeed,  any ' fix ' is even in the pipeline !

Some sellers are leaving a message on their listing,  for example.....   ' If you wish to buy multiple items,  please let me know before buying,  I will relist them as one listing so only one postage cost is charged, combining postage is not currently possible. '
