Postage Label not recognised at Post Office.

I presented 3 parcels at TWO different Post Offices today (Sat 2nd Aug 2025) both of which could not scan the pre-printed "Simple Deliver" Postage Labels paid by the three Buyers.

Yesterday I posted one parcel at the same Post Office with no problem.

NOTE:  Whereas the postage label for all recent dispatches including yesterday have had a tracking number beginning with the letters TQ without any Post Office issues, the tracking number for the 3 rejected postage labels begin with the letters YA

Is this change of label designation of significance to the problem?

The labels in question are:

YA000268344GB

YA000103552GB

YA000104884GB

Will Ebay generate 3 new labels?

I don't want to cancel existing labels myself as I will be charged for replacements whereas the buyers have already paid for the originals.

Yep, others are having the same issue yesterday, many reports of this coming through, you are not alone.

Some are reporting  this to CS,  and being told they would be sent a new label!    Hmmm!   Personally,  with the seemingly hundreds of cases which would need to be dealt with,  I wouldn't solely rely on this to happen.

Another member has reported CS telling them it's a Royal Mail issue, which will be solved in 24 hours!!

Seems for the time being, the answer is to either buy your own postage label through Royal Mail / Post Office,  and manually enter the new tracking details.  Or, try again later for an SD label.

Then, for the unused label:

  • If you selected 'Buyer pays’ when you created the listing, your buyer will automatically be refunded for any Simple Delivery label that isn’t used after 30 days

  • If you selected ‘Seller pays’ and offered free postage on your listing, you'll need to fill out the Request a refund for Simple Delivery form for the label that wasn’t used. Make sure to send your request within 14 days of your item selling.

Postage Label not recognised at Post Office.

Hi again

I must report that the Ebay/Royal Mail/Post Office label fiasco has still NOT been entirely fixed.

I visited my Post Office this afternoon (Tuesday, Aug 5th 2025) just after 1:00 PM.

All of my parcels' labels have the YA prefix and whilst some were able to be scanned two were not.

Please see below.

These 2 labels were UNABLE to be scanned at Post Office:

YA 0001 0355 2GB,   YA 0010 0488 4GB

The following labels 3 were SUCCESSFULLY scanned and accepted at Post Office:

YA 0038 5285 5GB,    YA 0037 2250 1GB,    YA 0002 6834 4GB

Buyers would be none the wiser of this issue had it not been for sellers keeping them updated. From my above experience, this still remains an unacceptable situation and Ebay must advise all sellers and buyers of what steps to take next. It is surprising that the media has been slow to catch on and report accordingly.

The ideal solution would appear to be to void existing troublesome labels and allow buyers to generate replacements for their orders which hopefully can be scanned. In the meantime I will keep my buyers advised as to the progress of any solution.

I care, if Ebay doesn't!

It was an RM issue.

Some are saying it is now fixed and PO's are now accepting labels.

Vinted had same issue with RM labels.

Pleased to advise that my remaining 2 parcels which could not be scanned have now been accepted at the Post Office today at 12:15 PM.

Thanks to all.
