Hi how would I go about getting approved to sell my own digital artwork in pdf format on ebay?  I’ve found the information below in the help forum but my account does not currently appear to allow classified ad format therfore any listing I try to create forces a postage option to be slected. Many Thanks G.

You need to be approved by eBay to sell digital items .  Also.....

Verification
You must provide verification that you own the digital goods or have authorization to sell them on eBay.

  • Content
You can't list items that could damage devices, be used for malicious purposes, or violate privacy.

  • Local pickup
You can't offer local pickup for electronically delivered goods.

  • Delivery requirements
You must disclose all requirements for buyers to receive the digital goods, such as needing a U.S. credit card.

  • Customer support
You're responsible for customer support, including for items that are not received or are substantially not as described.

  • Money Back Guarantee
You must disclose to buyers that the digital goods won't qualify for eBay's Money Back Guarantee.

If there is still an issue or needs clarification, contact eBay Customer Services for more guidelines.

This is the easiest and quicket way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.

Lines open between 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays.

    9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.

I recommend contacting CS very first thing in the morning, when the lines first open,  as there's more chance of Dublin answering.

I think the last sentence of the quote answers your question and you can't actually sell digitally delivered items on the UK site.

You could, of course, sell physical prints of your work.  If you were selling items you had made, you would need a business account.

Are you sure there's even a market for artwork delivered as a .pdf file?

Not everyone even has a home printer, or decent quality glossy or artwork paper. Someone who's just going to print it on A4 office paper isn't want to pay much - in fact, they would probably just copy and print the image from your listing. Did you know that eBay has even banned sellers from watermarking their images, so that any other seller can copy and use them?

If I liked a picture enough to buy it I'd want a proper printed copy, true to colour and printed on good quality paper appropriate to the picture - and pref. with a choice of size. This would also avoid the hassle of getting approval to sell for digital delivery.

Hi I understand there is a niche market for downloadable scalable art used by crafters (pdf and vector), for makers who use cutting machines etc who don’t wish to create their own artwork or wish to utilise print on demand services. It’s quite surprising how many people resell licensed artwork created by others. At the end of the day eBay is
Just another outlet where this could be sold. Etsy have been allowing the sale of downloadable art for sometime. 🙂
