There is a scam where an ebay member sends a message pretending to be ebay verification.

I suggest you go through Ebay's guidance pages on setting up managed payments, and do it from there.

One of the ways that Ebay confirms your bank account is linked to your Ebay account is that they may ask you to log into your bank account while you are logged into your Ebay account.

This is different to asking for your log in details though.

Are you sure the message came from Ebay?

Does the message use your name rather than your username?

What does the message say?

Logging into your bank

When verifying your account, if your bank is available in the Add a bank account list, you can select it and log in directly with your bank credentials. This is the fastest way to verify your bank account.

Re: Payments

So long as message is from ebay, it is the fastest way to verify account. When it was introduced I used it and was completed in minutes, while everyone else had to wait about 5 days.
