I placed an order last night and immediately realised it was a mistake so cancelled it straight away, within one or two minutes. The seller declined to cancel it saying it had already been posted. How is it possible to have posted something a minute after the order was placed. This does not sound realistic. I don’t think they are being honest. They should have cancelled the order and refunded my money. It sounds like a scam to me. Can anyone advise please?

eBay marks dispatched as soon as the postage label is printed but seller could still have cancelled. However, only business sellers are obliged to accept "change of mind" cancellations, private sellers are not. You could either send it back if the seller accepts returns, or resell it yourself.

Hello, thank you for your explanation. I don't know if it was a private seller or not, either way it still seems very unlikely that the postage label was printed within a minute of the order being placed. I am not going to pursue it and will know for next time to be more careful. Thank you for your help.
