Napa coat

I recently ordered a coat on-line from somebody to which I will name and shame shortly !! I was told I would be able to retract my offer at any time , I tried the very same day and within a few hours in fact but wasn’t given opportunity. I thought it wise to indeed try on another coat of the same make and style but another colour obviously , at that point I found that the coat still wasn’t large enough ! So tried to cancel my order but was told that I’d have to wait a couple of days before doing so . Unfortunately however after opening the package to check fir any damage , to my horror the coat smells and stinks of cigarette smoke , so does anybody out there know of how to contact by phone or maybes a phone number . Would greatly appreciate this , otherwise I’ll be forced to take legal action against this seller . Many thanks Kev .

You don't contact eBay by phone

You need to open a claim for item not as described

To do this go to your Purchases and to the right under 'More actions' select I want to return this then select doesn't match description or photos.

The seller will have 3 days to supply a return label for you to send back and refund you within 2 days of receipt.

If you don't get the label on day 4 return to the case and ask eBay to step i who will iaaue a label for you to use.

Have you already started a return through Ebay?

What reason did you choose?

I’ve tried numerous time’s and each time i get that automated messaging , but keeps saying case now closed ! Which is so annoying as the coat is unusable because it not only smells of cigarette smoke but is still too small !

In that case I’ll on social media ! as people like this shouldn’t be allowed to get away with things like this , if e-bay don’t resolve this , I’ll take legal action !!

The seller can't close a case unless you are too late to return - so, you received the item 30 days ago - or you chose a change of mind return.

Did you choose the reason that the coat was the wrong size or didn't fit?

More information will mean better advice.

If you open correct ebay case within 30 days and escalate it, ebay will sort refund.

Outside this time, it is between you and seller.

Your payment provider may help.

You have still not been very clear about what has happened so far.

You have mentioned trying a coat on elsewhere but that is not relevant.

Hopefully, you have now opened a case stating the item is not as described.

The seller will have to provide a label (through the case) and refund you when you get it back.

As I said, if you opened a case stating the coat would not fit, and you bought from a private seller, the case could be closed by the seller and not reopened.

There is no need to report the seller.  You can leave them negative feedback.
