Mixed up two labels and sent items to the wrong buyers

Hi,

I posted two items a kimono and a kaftan that were shipped out on the same day and mixed up the labels. This is the first time I have done this after 600 sales and feel mortified. But I realize this is a common error.

One item has been posted through GSP the other to a UK address.

The buyer to the UK address alerted me to my error as soon as she received the wrong item and sent me a picture of the Kaftan which was supposed to be the kimono. I got in touch with eBay straight  away and requested that the item  (kimono) sent through the GPS be returned to me before it left the UK. Which has subsequently happened. The GPS is a third party and I received no communication from eBay with regards to this and had no idea it was being returned by the GPS -tracking showed it on route internationally.  There has been abit of a wait -6 days

I have contacted my UK buyer and requested that she open a case for a 'return this item' and state that that 'received the wrong item' has been delivered. I sent her a message earlier today explaining what she needs to do on the purchase order step by step, but she has requested I just send the kimono out to her -  I have yet to hear back from her. I am unsure if she thinks she can just keep the Kaftan ideally I need this returned so I can post it to the other buyer. The purchase orders are for 45 and 55 so I don't want to just write this off. Can someone please advise if the correct protocol would be she open a return request for the wrong item sent and I refund her and she repurchase the kimono on a new listing? I assume I cant print out a shipping label from the original purchase as the tracking says it is delivered and as a seller I would not be protected.

I am also unsure what to do with my international buyer. I have also messaged her. The tracking at the moment shows as delivered - but it has been returned to me as the buyer. Do I request she open a case or directly message her refunding the order and asking she repurchase it? I have already suggested this to her but am waiting to hear back

I seem to get mixed messages when talking to eBay advisors -so if anyone has been in a similar situation it would be very useful to hear your thoughts.

Thank you

Mixed up two labels and sent items to the wrong buyers

Cancel the international sale and let the buyer know you will relist when the correct item is returned

Ask the UK buyer to open a case for 'received wrong item' and you will send prepaid label for her to return the incorrect item and issue a refund, after that you will list the correct item for her to purchase once the incorrect item has been received.
