As per subject line. Ridiculously, the thing managed to get all the way from China, then somehow the final courier managed to mislay it between the entrance to the block and my door.
They correctly buzzed my entry phone, i let them in, they never reached my door to deliver it (though I was waiting right behind it). Then tracking showed it as 'delivered' (at the exact time they buzzed the entry phone). But there's no sign of it, on the landing or anywhere. I'm _not_ going to knock at 50+ other flats to ask if anyone has seen it. Don't know how to proceed, there's no option to select 'item not received', presumably because the tracking falsely shows it as delivered.
Seems that all I can do is leave bad feedback (though really don't think it's the fault of some poor seller in China, when it appears to be the fault of the final UK courier)

It's not the fault of the seller, you are correct.
However, it doesn't take many seconds for an item left in view to be pinched, stolen.
Looks like there is no concierge person to see any item delivered , they wouldn't have left in any safe place for parcels / items downstairs would they?
End of the day unfortunately, as tracking does show delivery to the address, it doesn't need proof to be actually handed over to the person you will lose any eBay case for a refund.
Not sure if they can help, but you could try and turn to your payment provider for help here.

Your right it isn't the sellers fault,so speak with them and let them know the situation as they could contact the delivery service they used to complain, as items do get stolen.
Best add a safe place or neighbour for future deliveries.
If the item was of value then contact your payment provider for help in recovering your money, as ebay see items as delivered or attempted delivery so won't act on this.

Yeah, sounds like there's nothing I can do - it wasn't a particularly valuable item (but then again, i don't have a lot of money!).
I don't think a 'safe place' would have helped, as they could perfectly-well have just put it through the letter box (I was looking through the peephole expecting to see the courier at the door, after buzzing them into the building, but they never appeared). It seems they, for some quite mystifying reason, chose to go to some other flat entirely and delivered it there instead. Or they marked it as delivered and took it away with them again. Frustratingly puzzling as to what happened.

Sadly your last comment is probably the case here, as some delivery persons do mark as delivered and then take back.Basically stealing!
