I was a buyer of an item that arrived broken. EBay found the case in my favour and said “‘we’re issuing you a full refund.” Which was £304mBut weirdly only 149.99 came through. Now when I try to talk to the chat about it it just says “‘case found in your favour, now closed”. Any ideas what to do?

1. Was the seller a Business Account?
2. What sort of case did you open? Not as described arrived damaged?
3. Item number shown does not come up in search for ended or completed items.
4. Who refunded, seller or ebay?
5. If refund was from seller and the seller was a Business they can make deductions from the amount of refund.

You need to speak to Ebay - this was obviously a private seller sale, posted with Simple Delivery and, when you opened a return stating that the item arrived damaged, it was up to Ebay to refund you.
You can use the 'contact us' link at the bottom of the page but you will have to persevere with the automated assistant until you get to speak to a person.

Hi John, thanks of your reply.
1. The seller was an individual.
2. I initially asked the seller for a refund (and return) but he ignored it, then with ebay I opened up a case that stated the item was faulty.
3. This is the item number- 397792586564
4. Ebay refunded and said it was for the "full amount"
5. I think it was just a refund from ebay as the case was won in my favour. i wasn't even asked to return the item.
Really not sure what to do.

Ah thank you. I feel like it's a glitch as the refund receipt doesn't even add up properly. Theres' no way you can get to 149.99 by subtracting the buyers protection fee. Do you know how to break past the automatic AI chat? Every time I click the item in question, it just says
"
This case can’t be appealed
This case is closed and can't be appealed.
"
and asks if theres anything else I need help with...

May I ask because there is currently an issue with selecting a Call Back option, did you eventually get through to an agent whilst using a laptop / PC or did you use the app or mobile browser here?
It will help us to advise others, thank you.

Aah OK we've been told that ' live agents' can be accessed from apps and mobile browsers, thanks for confirming this.
