Incorrect paypal deduction.

Bought a car item and paid  by  my credit card but i have now found the same amount deducted from my PayPal account. Have spoken to seller who tells me he has only been paid once. Any ideas.

There is no ebay MBG for vehicles.

Nor should you pay through ebay.

You inspect car in person & pay in cash or bank transfer if happy.

You need to sort this with Paypal/credit card co.

Are you sure you don't mean that you paid by PayPal, with your credit card being the payment provider? This would explain why the same sum was taken from both. But that's just moving money about, it doesn't mean you have paid twice.

It's hard to see any other explanation. If you did pay direct by credit card there is no way the transaction could have been duplicated in PayPal. Unless of course you accidentally paid twice.

I suspect there's a simple explanation if you check it all out. Otherwise, you need to contact PayPal customer support if you still believe that a payment was incorrectly taken from your account.

If money was paid by paypal and backed by card, then money comes from card into PayPal and out again to pay.

It should be simple to see that paypal has a debit and credit, and balance remains the same, or if you do not keep a balance in paypal, just remains at 0.
