Hi, i purchased an item from ebay but they want from me to pay an import fee but this wasn't mentioned anywhere. What can I do in this situation as I don't want to pay this fee

Custom duty must have been explained somewhere on the listing that it may apply.

If you do not pay that due tax,  you will forfeit any eBay MBG Money Back Guarantee policy for a refund for an item which will not be delivered.

Unfortunately you will have pay this fee if you want the goods you ordered from overseas. It is the buyer’s responsibility not eBay’s to ensure additional fees that in this case UPS are charging you.

if you don’t pay then usually UPS destroy the items.

by not paying the fee you are not covered by eBays money back gaurantee either.

As you bought item from non UK seller & YOU are the importer, you are responsible for VAT and import fees.

If you refuse to pay these costs, you invalidate ebay MBG, so will lose item & money.

It can be confusing, but all listings where you buy from another country have a link under postage cost to possible custom fees.
