I’ve been Scammed please help

Hello - I need some help I have been trying to buy a bike for my son - I sent an offer which was accepted to a seller  I tried to pick up  the bike up but the person said it was not ready they were to going to bike shop for some work on it etc obviously at this point something was a miss then - I stupidly sent him my pick code and said l bought it - he then used this to say it’s been picked up - I’m 570 pounds down - any suggestions please, ebay were very unhelpful- as the code had been inserted- I have the chat  saved and contact my bank who are not sure if they can help .  I so gutted for my son who was very excited about his new bike - please help

Effectively you Just gave your money away.

The code is expected to be given to seller when you collect and are satisfied with your purpose. You cannot prove it was not delivered which is no doubt why your bank may not be able to help.

If ebay made an exception, the whole point of having a code would be defeated.

eBay aren't going to get involved here if you gave the seller your collection code, which obviously confirms that you've collected the bike. 

I can't see another route to getting your money back, to be honest.

If you paid with your debit card and try and issue a chargeback via your bank and the seller has the collection code it may be viewed as a fraudulent claim by them, which isn't something you want.

Has the seller stopped contact with you?
