I am a private seller. A proposed Buyer is persistent in asking for my PP E mail address.

What is a PP E mail address for payment.  Proposed  Buyer has not met Reserve price or entered into any negotiation.  He is repeatedly asking for my "PP E mail" address.  Help!

I would ignore them and then block them so they can't message you again or buy from you.

If they want your Payypal email, or any personal email address/contact details then you sre being set up for a scam.

Block a buyer

Here's how to add a member to your blocked buyer list:

  1. Go to the Block bidders or buyers from your listings - opens in new window or tab page.
  2. Enter the buyer's username in the text box (you can add up to 5,000 usernames).
  3. Select Submit.

Thanks so much for your prompt response. Never come across this before but you have confirmed my gut instinct.  I will block the buyer as you explained so well.

If you get any more similar 'enquiries' don't give any personal details and state you will only accept payment through Ebay checkout.

I hope you read the conditions for setting a reserve when you listed your item - there is a fee of 4% of the reserve price, maximum £150 whether or not the item sells.

Too late for this time I am afraid, but it is much better and cheaper for you to start the sale at the lowest price you would be happy to accept.

That is an expensive niche item and you may be paying out over £120 without getting a sale.
