Listed an item which eBay insisted was under 1kg, changed (or thought I had) postage, which I’m paying, to 2kg (item is approx. 1.6kg), get pre-paid Evri label & QR code, only to see it’s gone with the under 1kg option anyway?
is there anything I can do to add to the Evri postage fee? I can’t cancel it as it is now apparently ‘used’, just don’t want buyer to not get his item in time or anything!
I didn’t want to use Simple Delivery but couldn’t see a way to offer free postage otherwise!

I do not use Simple Delivery, but this issue has been reported by others, so obviously a major 'flaw' in SD.
Just pay for the correct postage at the Post Office counter and if you cannot manually change that tracking number use a PC / laptop and Chrome and not the app or mobile browser, then contact eBay Customer Services, link below, they'll do it for you.
You can receive a refund for the unused label , but may have to wait 24 hours for it to appear before being able to cancel it.
Find your label with this link . https://www.ebay.co.uk/ship/
The refund will take between 5 - 21 days to process.
Simple Delivery is not compulsory..... yet, so you can opt out if you wish. I believe you'll need a laptop / PC and use Chrome for this, maybe not the app or mobile browser.
When creating a new listing here's how to opt out:
Click on Collection then straight away back to and click on Postage Only, and the Custom option shows, you are then able to select the postage service and cost you wish to use.
Or, if there is a switch link, click on ' Switch to Advanced Options' at the bottom of the postage section, and once again when a pop up appears.
If you need to, this is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.

Lines open 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. on weekdays
9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on weekends.
Automated agents will be available on chat outside of the above hours.
I recommend contacting CS first thing in the morning as there's more chance of Dublin answering.

Thank you very much for your help, have now sent parcel via RM Tracked 48, informed buyer & (hopefully!) changed tracking number.
Was unable to cancel label but it was only 3 quid & at the main thing is that parcel is now safely on its way to buyer & there won’t be any issue with it!
Chap in Post Office said lots of people have been coming in with the same problem.
I definitely won’t be using SD again!
