I sold and item on eBay last night. I want to contact the buyer to get them to pay and then to let me know when they want to collect. It is 2 sofas and therefore collection only. Every time i click on the "contact buyer" button to send them a message, i get a sad face emoji come up and a message saying "something went wrong" so i can't sent the message. I have tried on the app and also on the website. I can't find anyway to contact eBay directly - all the help pages redirect me to questions that aren't relevant. I'm concerned that the buyer might be having similar issues their end and this may result in the sale falling through.
Is there someone who works for eBay reading this that can contact me to resolve the issue or does anyone else have any advice?
Thanks for reading!

You don't need to contact them to get them to pay - an invoice will have been generated and sent when you 'made the sale' (as Ebay would say).
Once they have paid, then you will be able to contact them to exchange details and arrange collection, but they do have to pay first.

Simple answer to you last question is NO.
Best to try again today, are you using the app.? A laptop should not have this problem.
Have you tried going to buyers feedback page and using contact link there?

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I realise that that they automatically get sent an invoice but on all my previous sales, when it is a collection only, I have always sent the buyer a message to encourage them to pay quickly so we can arrange a collection date - i have always been able to use the contact buyer option to send messages even before they have paid. I think i might have to wait a few days to see if they pay and contact me and whether the issue resolves itself.
