You do not have to set up a schedule but payments are no longer made automatically - weekly, daily etc.
You have to go into 'payments' on 'seller hub' or old style Ebay and request your payout.
If you haven't sold for ages, you may need to set up a bank account to receive your payments.
Put 'getting paid' into 'help & contact' top left of your Ebay page.

Adding to the correct advice given as you haven't sold for a long time, have you fully registered with eBay's Managed Payments?
You need to provide eBay with details of a bank account and have this account verified. The usual method here, is for eBay to send 2 micro deposits into that nominated bank account for you to receive, and confirm to eBay.
Once this is completed, you will be able to list items for sale, and receive payouts from those sales.
This will show you how to register for eBay's Managed Payments.

If there is an issue with the registration contact eBay Customer Services, who have full access to your account, and can see where the issue lies and explain the steps you now need to take.
Contact them this way.
This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services from the link below, for a Call Back option. I do recommend contacting CS very first thing in the morning when the lines first open, as there's more chance of Dublin answering

Before the present system, money was paid to paypal and you had to withdraw it. It has never gone direct to a bank account before, so when you refer to "my account" what account do you mean?
The only difference is that now money goes to your ebay account and just like paypal, you have to either withdraw when required or it will automatically be paid to your registered bank account quarterly.
