Seller won't replace or refund wrong item sent.

Hi. I recently ordered a 8gb/128gb tablet paying considerably more than a 4gb/64gb version. I received a 4gb/64 version instead of the higher spec one that I ordered. I discovered that the item was different from what I ordered after opening the box. The seller is refusing the exchange or refund saying that I got what I ordered and that they can't exchange an opened item. The tablet was very clearly advertised as the higher spec version and the option of the lower spec was not there. The seller now ignores my messages. The ebay chat bot tells me the cased is closed and this is final. I feel conned. What can I do?

Sounds as if you opened a case and the case has been closed by the seller.

I assume it was a private seller as business sellers have to accept returns for any reason.

You may be able to get a refund from your payment provider but, first of all:

When did you receive the item?  You only have 30 days to open a case.

What reason did you give for wanting to return the item?  (My guess is that you chose 'wrong size'.)
