What happens if a seller refuses to cancel the order?

Hi, Bought a vape, I didn't know it needed age verifcation, bought it, paid for it, got an email saying verify your details on this external website called whatever, anyway I followed their instructions, entered my creditcard details on this external website, they took them and vanished saying failed please scan your ID, I thought sod this, went back to eBay and emailed the guy who sold the vape and said I don't trust the site you sent me to and 14 mins after I bought the vape I cancelled... but the vape seller keeps on sending me verification emails about my age and is ignoring my messages about cancelling, I started the process, but I'm getting nothing back from this seller, please advise

If you were buying from a registered business they probably had to take some time to see a cancellation was requested , and now seen,  has completed your refund.

Once eBay notify you the refund is made,  being processed,  then it's not instantly returned to you,  and does go back to original payment source.

If you paid with PayPal it goes back to your PayPal account fairly swiftly.

Paying with a debit / bank card?  Can take up to 12 days to appear back in your bank account.

Credit card payment?  This takes the longest,  up to 30 days to appear back in the card account used.

It should be of some concern that you were asked for credit card details, as you pay through ebay and apart from proving you are over 18 giving out this information is open to abuse. I hope you did not also give the number on the back of the card.

Were you buying from a BUSINESS SELLER?

Check that no unauthorised payments go through your credit card, and that you have not been signed up to make regular payments.
