Fraudulent Listings

Ebay do not seem to care about the high number of fraudulent listings in the Uk for the likes of Tiffany jewellery.

I have reported several pieces and have received responses stating that the items do not breach any rules!

Ebay, Tiffany do not and never have used anything else other than precious metals, you will never find 'gold plated' items in Tiffany!

Yet another item I have reported in the last 24 hours has been found to not breach rules despite it clearly having gold plating on it but is listed as silver, it can be seen in the photos and in the description.

Why are eBay doing nothing about these counterfeit items?
This is affecting genuine Business sellers as people are buying cheap counterfeit goods on eBay!

Re: Fraudulent Listings

Ebay provide a 30 day money back guarantee, and it is up to buyers to use it.

How have you reported, replies are usually now AI, but it is cases opened by buyers that count, and of course feedback.

You may know things are fakes, but ebay agents are hardly likely to be aware of fakes and also for all they know you are possibly reporting competitors.

You should report to Tiffany, I am surprised they do not use VERO to get fakes removed.https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/listing-policies/selling-policies/intellectual-property-vero-pr...

You're wasting your time. eBay states that counterfeits can be reported, and there is a link in every listing to report them, but this is misleading. The reality is that eBay does not accept reports of counterfeits from ordinary members, only from the registered owner of the brand name. Instead, they suggest reporting them to the brand owner, as below:

Intellectual property rights owners
Only intellectual property rights owners can report eBay listings that infringe on their copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights. Sellers who are rights owners can learn more about the VeRO program and file a report from the Reporting intellectual property infringements (VeRO) - opens in new window or tab page.

Not the rights owner
Members who are not the rights owner can still help by getting in touch with the owner and encouraging them to contact us. Some rights owners who participate in the VeRO Program have created a participant page, so eBay members can find out more about their products and legal positions. Though not all VeRO participants have a page, those that do can be found at our VeRO participant pages - opens in new window or tab.
