Faulty item 5 weeks after delivery…

Hello.
I recently bought an item (watch strap) which after 5 weeks was no longer fit for purpose / faulty.

I’d lost faith in the product so asked the seller for a refund. He refused.

The seller did initially offer a replacement if I paid postage again which I declined. He’s subsequently withdrew the offer to replace.

I opened a return request on eBay which was closed by the seller.

Have I exhausted my options with eBay? I cannot find any other dispute resolution route on the app.

And therefore am I solely left with my statutory rights under the CRA?

Thanks in advance for any useful suggestions.

You cannot report this to eBay as they do not offer warranties or guarantees on items, just that they are just as described on receipt.  If they are not,  a buyer has 30 days under eBay's 30 day MBG,  Money Back Guarantee policy,  to return the item for a full refund.

If you bought this from a Private seller you are too late to claim a refund.  You could try your payment provider for help with a refund.

There's nothing else you can do via ebay.   Only one case per transaction.     For future reference use "not as described" as the reason in this situation.   Some other options are classed as "change of mind" which sellers can refuse.   Cases also expire if not escalate to ebay within 30 days.

Now you could try contacting your payment provider and see if they can help.   Good luck.
