Faulty bed

Had a bed delivered early November in time for Christmas. Has only been used a handful of time by one very light person. The bed springs are making a thudding noise whenever you move. Something very wrong! Seller has refused the return. Am appalled as, surely, this is unlawful. Ebay are not helping either.

It is too late to do anything through ebay as you have 30 days to open a dispute from the day of receipt.

Try contacting Citizens advice as if they are a business you should be able to do something under uk law.

Failing that then try your card provider.

You can't expect eBay to be helpful. eBay's user agreement explains that all transactions are between you and the seller, not with eBay. They even warn buyers that "they do not guarantee the existence, quality, safety or legality of items advertised, or the truth or accuracy of descriptions". So you can't say you were not warned about the risks of buying here. It isn't like the shops.

eBay does however provide its own money back guarantee, which would have entitled you to a full refund, but claims have to be made within 30 days of delivery.

You might sill be able to get help from your credit or debit card issuer, if that's how you paid. Otherwise you could ask Citizens Advice or a solicitor if it's worthwhile considering the small claims court.
