False advertising on ebay

I bought a OBD2 reader on Ebay last year, that was advertised as "free lifetime updates", now the company I bought it from are charging me £49:95 for updates. I reported this to ebay and have been told it is not against ebay rules, so who or where should I  report this to now

Nothing to do with ebay, and nothing you can do through ebay. You did not buy from ebay.

I suggest you contact citizens advice, or get proper advice.
