Hi all. Buyer made an offer , I accepted meaning payment was made automatically. Buyer asked for cancellation. I thought I’d done this as was told cancellation in progress. I’ve now received an email from eBay saying cancellation not possible as 3 days have elapsed and I failed to contact the buyer( I did). I haven’t sent the item. Any advice please? Do I just refund the buyer? Many thanks

ebay say:
If you don't respond within the 3 calendar days we'll close the buyer's cancellation request. If the buyer has paid, you'll need to fulfil the order.
That seems a tad nflexible to me. Check if you can cancel via the dropdown menu arrow alongside the item on your orders list, select Cancel order > Buyer asked to cancel. If not you'll have to refund if you can.

Another silly email from ebay, wasting money on posting something buyer does not want, so you would also get caught with return postage, just proves how out if touch with selling they are.
What was simple when sellers were in control of post now becomes difficult.
As suggested try cancelling the sale, with reason “buyers request”, and if that works will generate a refund. If not just try refund.
