Hello, all:
I'm sure I won't be the first or last business seller to have this problem, but any advice would be appreciated!
I recently sold one pack of cleansing wipes, offering free P&P.
Total weight, including packaging: 235 grams.
Printed off the label from Ebay: costing me £0.87.
(Simple Delivery option not applicable.)
Went to the post office where I was told it had insufficent postage: it should be £2.00 (RM, non-tracked, 2nd class) - the cheapest option.
So, I paid the £2.00 postage, losing any profit.
I've had Evri (Packlink) take money from my ebay account to cover insufficient postage twice in the past month; each time after I had used ebay's labels. I've had to apologise to buyers for the hassle caused them.
I'm wondering how other members deal with this problem.
Many thanks!
Peter

The answer is simple - don't buy postage from Ebay and don't assume the postage they suggest is correct.
Get a Royal Mail price list (prices went up today) and set your own postage prices.
87p covers a letter, less than 100g and less than 5mm thick. It was never going to be enough for a pack of wipes.
So, set your own postage. Don't assume Ebay knows best.
Buy labels from Royal Mail Click and Drop as prices are a bit cheaper.
