Ebay wrongly issued Yodel label

I contacted the seller when my purchase  had not arrived. He explained that Ebay had issued a Yodel label even though Yodel no onger exists so the parcel is lost and I need to claim a refund off Ebay. So I now have a lengthy process of waiting til 26th Sept before i can ask Ebay to intervene even though the seller has responded and then wait for the refund. Ridiculous when Ebay made the mistake! They should refund immediately.

Re: Ebay wrongly issued Yodel label

If this was a Private seller then eBay do not issue Yodel labels,  that courier is not yet available to sellers on eBay through Simple Delivery,  the seller must have selected Yodel(InPost),  themselves.

End of the day doesn't matter about the courier,  if you do not receive your item and the seller cannot prove delivery with tracking you are guaranteed a full refund.

I do understand the frustration of waiting until one day past the item's last estimated date for delivery before being able to open a case for item not received,  but in fairness,  it still could arrive within that time.

Re: Ebay wrongly issued Yodel label

Wasn't a private seller and item was delayed 4 days past the last estimated date.

Ebay have made the same mistake with several shops all of which had to contact customers and tell them their item is not going to arrive because of the confusion of Yodel no longer in business as Inpost took over in April.  They too have

to follow the process as me for a refund. I informed Ebay that item has not arrived so I want a refund and they emailed saying seller needs to respond which he did buy i still have to wait another 6 days before Ebay will intervene? Why ? Its not acceptable when the seller has informed the item will not be delivered.

Re: Ebay wrongly issued Yodel label

If you opened item not received case, no reason seller can't refund immediately through it.

You can escalate to ebay 4 days after opening case.

Always best to give us full information so we can answer you accurately.

If 4 days have passed the last estimated date for delivery you can now open a case for item not received,  and on day 4,  if not refunded beforehand,  escalate the case,  eBay step in and force the refund.

No need  for any other message to the seller.

Re: Ebay wrongly issued Yodel label

Unfortunately because sellers items have all gone amiss due to Ebay issuing label for Yodel when its no longer in business the items cannot be traced so seller has to claim cost of items from Ebay. If he refunds me he loses the item and the amount refunded if Ebay do not pay up.

Ebay fault not the seller. Several businesses and shops are experiencing the same issue.

According to email from Ebay I have to wait 6 days to escalate case. Guess thats because we have 2 non working days in between.

Re: Ebay wrongly issued Yodel label

Ebay could not issue a label through the site for a courier that is no longer in business.  As said, there is still a courier with Yodel in the name.

Where are you getting your information from that several businesses are experiencing the same issue?

Re: Ebay wrongly issued Yodel label

Well youre incorrect because I have the tracking details which shows Yodel and not Yodel by Inpost which you are referring to. Yodel as a stand alone does not exist and thats where the problem lies.

Re: Ebay wrongly issued Yodel label

Are you basing your entire complaint on the tracking saying 'Yodel'?

Its not trading as Yodel. Its Yodel by Inpost and thats where the problem lies.

Re: Ebay wrongly issued Yodel label

Of course not. I have the transcript from seller to both me and Ebay and seller has forwarded communication from Packlink etc. The seller has been operating for over 7yrs with 100% positive feedback so.Im not doubting what theyve told me as Ive seen their response to Ebay.

Re: Ebay wrongly issued Yodel label

Yodel/Yodel by Inpost are basically the same thing.

My local Yodel delivery driver is still delivering Yodel packages, if you check their website when you're looking at the tracking it's just a rebranding exercise:
