Ebay only cares about money

Hi all,

Over the past couple of months I've been updating my power tools, had a look on ebay and was astounded by the amount of fake Milwaukee power tools, when I reported them to ebay, they told me they had reviewed a couple and decided they weren't fake, how exactly did they decide this? I even sent photo's of genuine ones as a comparison.

Believe me, I own a lot of Milwaukee tools, & I can spot a fake a mile off, these aren't even good ones, but ebay aren't interested in the least, they will not take them down, so all i can assume is that they don't care as long as they get their pound of flesh.

I think it's absolutely disgusting, and worse, people are buying shoddy tools that they think are the real thing, then will be thinking Milwaukee tools are sub par.

Now, it appears that ebay have removed the option to report items unless you've actually bought them, what a shambles, so basically ebay are empowering the scammers.

eBay don't see the actual items, so are unable to verify their authenticity.

eBay will only act on buyers opening returns if they receive counterfeit product.

Yeah, the problem with that is, Joe public don't realise they have a cheap knockoff, and ebay have stopped us having the ability to report them before the customer gets scammed, so I stand by my statement, ebay don't give a rats *bleep* about protecting buyers, it's just a greed fuelled behemoth that only cares about maximising profit and turning a blind eye to blatant scams

There is a function to report every listed item.

Bottom right of each listing is a question mark in a circle.

Click on that to report an item.

However, Ebay won't act on a single report, otherwise a lot of listings that are completely legitimate would be removed.

eBay does not act on reports of counterfeits from ordinary users. This is understandable because reports from users may be mistaken or even malicious.

eBay will  remove items from sale when reported by the registered owner of the brand name. Quote: "Only intellectual property rights owners can report eBay listings that infringe on their copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights".

eBay suggests that members who suspect items are counterfeit should get in touch with the rights owner and encourageg them to contact eBay.

I reported multiple fake tools, mainly Milwaukee, and attached photo's of the real & fake ones and a detailed description of both, in every case I had a reply that an operative had looked into it and deemed the tools as genuine, so I stand by my comment, ebay do not care one iota as long as they are making money, they are indifferent at best, at worst they are turning a blind eye to criminality as they make money either way.
