I have been trying to get EBAY to remove multiple posts for FAKE / COUNTERFEIT goods.
Yet they do nothing.
Ebay's policies state they will remove any product that infringes on Intellectual Property rights.
COUNTERFEIT goods are just that.
EBAY seemingly does not care to protect consumers to stop any customer fall victim to a scammer selling fake goods.
Specifically, there are many sellers selling counterfeit JBL Flip 6 speakers on EBAY for low prices, while JBL are still selling on their own website the genuine product for 400% more than these EBAY scammers/sellers.
I was the victim of one such scammer. I bought a fake JBL Flip 6 on EBAY unknowingly. In comparison with a real one I already had, in a detailed test that took over 3 hours (finding 12 points of technical and physical difference) it was clear that what I had been sold on EBAY was a fake. In this case I reported it to EBAY (report ref ID: ). EBAY eventually removed that listing, and enforced a refund. But that took over a week. Even after the seller openly admitted to me in a message that he/she sold me "a copy". It is now clear to me that the sub 30 GBP price of this item offered for sale by ANY seller on EBAY indicates that ALL going to be counterfeit products. But price should NOT be the guide by which consumers have to determine for themselves if something is real or a fake. Customer protection SHOULD be EBAY's priority. Not one of 'let the buyer beware'.
Subsequently I began to look at the dozens of other listings of the same product from other sellers at low prices.
I asked multiple sellers if they were selling the real item. And I received many messages in reply from these sellers to say they are selling either "a copy", or "a replica", or a "high quality replica".
Each reply therefore clearly shows that these goods being sold on EBAY are fakes. But they are advertised as the real thing.
I reported to EBAY two other actual sellers - who have live listings of the same product AND sent EBAY their messages acknowledging that they are selling fakes .
Yet EBAY did nothing.
In one specific case EBAY told me that they "didn’t find the content to be in violation of our policy". This is despite the fact that in the seller's message, he/she admitted the product on sale a "copy" . The seller's EBAY advert offers the real thing, not a copy or fake.

eBay won't take somebody's word that items are counterfeit, but they do take notice when items are returned for that reason. Feedback indicating this obviously serves as a good warning to other potential buyers too.
I will say, that price for a new item should be a guide, particularly if that seller has multiples of the item.
Really, the brand owner should be taking action. Clearly they're not bothered.

Yes, but when they are sent a message that comes FROM the seller in which he/she openly admits that the item advertised as real is in fact not real but a copy AND then EBAY does nothing, shows that EBAY is complicit in the fraud.

I agree that eBay should do something if the seller has emitted in an eBay message that they're selling copies of a branded product, not the real deal.

Exactly. YET EBAY did nothing.
Stating in their reply to me : "we didn’t find the content to be in violation of our policy. " *bleep*.

Was that after you spoke with eBay CS about the eBay message and asked them to take a look at it?
AI looks at listing content via reports and likely won't be able to find an issue there, only a human can do that.

I spoke to a real person named Sinead in CS. I then sent a detailed email to her at uktcc@ebay.com. Including messages from various sellers saying what they are selling is not the real thing.
And yet all these sellers are still advertising their fake goods on EBAY.
How many people have to be duped before EBAY acts ?
Why then does EBAY state infringement of IP/goods sold that do just that is not allowed ?
Does EBAY have to wait for every customer to complain / seek remedy for the fraud, like I did before acting ?
EBAY is, as I said, complicit in the fraud being committed IMO.

Are they eBay messages though?

I think I am being perfectly clear when I say this : YES all messages are via, through and ON the EBAY site.

As a follow up to my original post, I received this message :

So, while I can't link to the posts of the scammers selling fake goods, in order not to 'defame' a scammer, EBAY can and will continue to allow such scammers to carry on scamming EBAY customers.
Charming.

Ebay's policies state they will remove any product that infringes on Intellectual Property rights.
Correct - but they also say that they will only remove items from sale when reported by the registered owner of the brand name. Quote: "Only intellectual property rights owners can report eBay listings that infringe on their copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights".
It's pointless trying to report sellers yourself. All you can do is follow eBay's suggestion to get in touch with the rights owner, and encourage them to contact eBay.
You can read eBay's policy here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/listing-policies/selling-policies/intellectual-property-vero-pr...

IF what you say is the case then, then WHY did EBAY :
1. remove the listing for the item I purchased ?
2. step in to ensure I received a refund ?
IF EBAY IS TO BE CONSISTENT THEN IT SHOULD BE CONSISTENT.
If they are sent real messages via their OWN system from sellers admitting that what they are selling are counterfeit products, then THE ASSOCIATED LISTINGS SHOULD BE REMOVED.
YOU, sir / madam, are obviously an EBAY plant sent in to act for EBAY.
Your transparency is obvious. Your credibility is zero.
