Delete a photo I sent to the seller by mistake with a return request

Hi,

So long story short, I returned an item to a seller recently due to an issue, the eBay website said that sending photos was a requirement before my return could be approved and I sent one of the photos by mistake but the other photos were fine, so I want eBay or the seller to delete that one photo to exercise my rights under the UK's GDPR law. I've since received a refund which I'm happy about.

I've tried to contact eBay but it directed me to a chatbot which didn't understand my query so now I'm posting it here, hoping to resolve this soon. Any help or advice is appreciated.

Please do not worry about sending a wrong photo, cases are all automated, no human contact, so sending a photo of a table leg would suffice too.

The transaction closed satisfactorily with a refund there's nothing else to do or correct in that transaction.

You can if you wish send a message to the seller about the error,  but truly no need.

Wow I didn’t know that it was all automated. Thats interesting.

I always thought everything you send through eBay is reviewed by a person for TOS reasons. That’s a relief.

I think I’ll just be more careful next time and move on now.

If you added photos to your case when you opened it, the photos are viewable by the seller.

Last time a buyer opened an 'item not as described' case against me, the photos they used to support their complaint were added to the case and I could see them.

Sellers can access this information for some time - I have just found the details of my return from January this year and by clicking 'return details' I can still view the photos the buyer attached to the case.

I  am not able to delete those photos.  By clicking on the images, I am able to copy them.

I have attached a screenshot below.

If you are really worried that a photo you have attached should not have been sent, you can try Ebay Customer Services and see what they say.

Thanks for the advice as I’ve never had this issue before. I’ll just have to move on from this then. How do I close this thread?
