Defective Water Filter Cartridges

Defective items delivered in July,  reported to eBay who passed on to seller.  Seller came back with some trouble-shooting ideas  (which were pointless) instead of sending return label.  Then I was informed I had run out of time for return, and if I still wished to return items (Water Filter Cartridges) I would have to incur the Shipping Fee, which would cost a lot more than the goods were worth. Also offered as a goodwill gesture, 30% of cost (why would I pay 60% for goods I could not use). The most frustrating part of this transaction is the fact I cannot communicate with a human at eBay.  I have got is an email saying I had run out of time, return request is closed.  Also being accused  of a Policy Violation. The reason I may have run out of time for returning, is the fact I have not been facilitated to do so.  Can someone let me know how I can communicate with eBay.

Thank you

If you don't follow the process of the Ebay Money Back Guarantee, you  will probably fail to get a refund.

You have to open a return case using the Ebay Money Back Guarantee within 30 days of receiving a faulty item.

If the seller doesn't provide a label in a timely fashion, you have to go back to the case and ask Ebay to step in.

You needed to do that rather than communicating with the seller.

It is too late now to do anything further through Ebay.

Re: Defective Water Filter Cartridges

By reporting to eBay as soon as I found out these items were defective I was asked to send photos which I did and assumed all I needed to do was wait for Returns Label.

I have been shopping with eBay for several years and have never returned an item.

Please show me where it was made clear to me how to apply for a refund.

Re: Defective Water Filter Cartridges

On every item listing there is a link to the money back guarantee, it is there for buyers to read. If you want to return for a refund, then you click on SEE DETAILS, you do not report to ebay, you did not buy from ebay, you bought from the seller, so any problem requires a case to be opened which goes to seller.

If after 3 days seller has not responded with a reply paid label, THEN you can escalate the case to ebay who will take over. Only by following correct procedure will anything get done either by seller or if not by ebay.

No it wasn't. You haven't read the user agreement.

If eBay do not solve this issue I will never shop with them again.

They won't, so in that case you will never shop with eBay again.

Lke all of us, you accepted eBay's t&c which make it entirely clear that responsibility for transactions rests with the seller. eBay's liability is limited to its own money back guarantee, which is clearly stated to apply for only 30 days. There is a link to this in every listing.

Buying from unknown sellers on eBay isn't like the shops. eBay even warns buyers in the user agreement that they do not guarantee the quality of items sold here, that descriptions will be truthful or accurate or that items for sale will be safe, legal - or even exist. Would you have bought from a shop that said this? If you decide to carry on here do PLEASE understand the rules, and the risks. eBay is a jungle.
