Complaint from buyer

This morning I had an email from eBay saying that a buyer of mine hasn't received an item I sold to them but the tracking says it has been delivered. Since selling, I have only sold 3 items and all the buyers have received their items and have left reviews. I cannot find this buyer by username yet I am still getting emails from eBay. I have emailed eBay this morning complaining about this buyer. According to the emails I have received from eBay, they say the buyer is a Community Hub contributor. If this is you, you won't get any money from me.

Re: Complaint from buyer

It sounds very odd and probably some sort of scam.   eBay would never mention being a community contributor.    If the case is not showing on your ebay account just delete the emails.

I'm also thinking this is a scam.

It doesn't sound like eBay's usual way of resolving disputes.

Normally the buyer opens an item not received case under eBay's money back guarantee, and the case is decided according to the tracking record. If it's tracked as delivered, the case is found in the seller's favour.

Buyers can appeal, but the onus is placed on them to prove that the tracking record is incorrect in some way.

eBay does sometimes message parties to a dispute, but the whole thing could also be a scam - it's impossible to comment without knowing any of the details.

If it's genuinely pursuant of an MBG case eBay will eventually notify you of their decision. If they conclude that the delivery record was incorrect you would have no say about refunding the buyer; eBay would take payment from the account you registered with them for such purposes. If it's a scam, it will probably try to trick you into paying by paypal or similar, probably through a fake web site. Watch out for this.
