Combined Postage on Discounted items why can't we longer get this?

Hello

I understand from a buyer I trust and respect that Ebay has made the decision not to allow combined postage on discounted items. 

If so is there anything that can be done to get them to change what would be a really stupid policy which restricts what people can buy from sellers.

Small items can soon tot up really silly postage rates like £25+ for say ten items when the actual postage would cost around £2 to £3.

is there any way the seller can get round this?

If seller can send a combined invoice, then they should be able to edit the postage.

If not then it is still possible for seller to refund excess postage. 

One way or another they just need to think how to charge what they want, not what ebay tells them.

I was speaking to a friend the other day they had exactly the same issue. That eBay would not allow the seller to combine the postage on discounted items. What wasn’t clear was if you put the items in to your basket then request the total whether it then worked. 

but they did get a message I presume from eBay at checkout saying as you have discount on items combined postage not allowed.

they cancelled the order and bought somewhere else.

is this what happened to you?

edit: this was for a transaction from New Zealand to the uk.

This was for UK to Uk transaction. I didn't go ahead as I wanted to purchase around 20 items in one transaction and the postage came to over £50! That was putting the items in the basket and requesting combined postage.

I don't think postage can be refunded directly I think the only way I can think of would be for the seller to send the money via paypal  direct to the purchaser without involving Ebay at all.

Is there a way to contact Ebay directly to complain?

If the seller knows what they are doing it can be done as a manual adjustment post sale. They need to goto seller hub click send refund then they can do a postage adjustment there. No need to go direct via paypal etc.
