Collection of sold item pending

Hi there.  Can anyone help with a collection query?  I sold my Dad’s golf buggy and the buyer was supposed to collect this week. However, he has had a health issue and now won’t be able to collect for at least 3/4 weeks. He has asked if that is ok. It is with me BUT is there any eBay rule that might come into force is the collection is delayed further?  

I haven’t sold a large collection only item before so I don’t know if any eBay policy that might kick in and void the sale.

I'm not sure how long the collection code will remain valid.    And it could be more than 4 weeks before he can collect so it might be best to cancel the current transaction and relist nearer the time for him to buy and pay again.

If you decide to do that discuss with buyer first.   Then click on the dropdown menu arrow alongside the item on your orders page and select Cancel order > Buyer asked to cancel.   A refund will be issued in the process.

Or you could cancel and relist for someone else to buy.   It's up to you.
