Changing from post to delivery after payment

Hi. I have sold an item on Ebay. The buyer has paid for the item plus postage. He is now collecting it in person this evening instead. I tried to refund the postage - Ebay has issued a refund but out of the general amount the buyer paid. It still records that the item is being posted. How can I change it to collection in person? He's collecting it tonight by 6 pm. Any help appreciated.

You can't change the existing transaction.   You'd have to cancel it altogether and relist as collection for the buyer to buy again.   Then they will get a collection code to give to you to prove they have the item.

If you don't want to do that you can mark the current transaction as dispatched by downloading the postage label.     The buyer will automatically get a refund for the unused label in 30 days.    You will have no proof of collection so in theory buyer could claim their money back at a later.

You cannot change it.  When an item is listed and sold as a collection item it provides the buyer with a collection code, this to be handed to,  scanned by the seller,  and that is the only way, the only proof you have the item has been collected.

If you made a partial refund for the postage already then yes,  it would have been taken out the amount the buyer paid.

When using Simple Delivery , remember for next time that if an SD label isn't used, and the buyer paid, it is automatically refunded by eBay to the buyer,  but can take 30 days to appear.  

There is no way now, to mark your item as collected, there'd be no way to prove against item not received !  Your payout may be delayed for a minimum of 14 days before release.
