Does anyone know please how things will work,I don't want to use Evri,I only want to use Royal Mail & don't want eBay telling me what carrier I should use,,I have a very good Post Office & take my items there using the Drop & Go service, the staff weigh the items & print the 48hr tracked labels,I then mark as despatched & enter the Tracking details,I presume once eBay shows the item as delivered the 48hours for getting paid will begin.

What you are describing is Simple Delivery,  which looks like it may become mandatory for sellers anytime before March.

Like you I too favour my ,little  Post Office , with my miserly offerings but they're still grateful for anything to help them stay open.

With Simple Delivery,  sellers will have to buy postage from eBay and as far as we know,  Evri and Royal Mail are the initial chosen carriers, and buyers here choose the postal service they prefer.

The changes from February are major too.  A Buyer Protection fee comes in.  Buyers pay this fee which is:

  • Up to £3004% of the item price, plus a flat fee of £0.75
  • £300–£4,0002% of the item price, plus the flat fee of £0.75

I never know the size of my parcel so it could make it very time consuming & I don't have access to a printer at the moment ,I will see if I can opt out of the Simple Delivery, even if it means waiting a little longer for my money,

If you are Private seller you can opt out of Simple Delivery now,  but come this Mandatory SD,  then there will be no opt out for Private sellers.
