Cannot send an invoice to Buyer as I get the message that buyer is on a banned counties list

I am trying to send my buyer an invoice and they live in the USA where I have, in the past, sent many items to without encountering this problem. I can only assume this is a technical glitch and that this will be corrected in time. I have checked my banned countries list, just to make sure that the USA does not appear on it and it does not, so I am really at a loss as to why this message keeps popping up when I hit the send payment details button.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Any suggestions re finding a way around would be appreciated.

Have you added international postage method and cost to the invoice?

I see you quote overseas postage on your listings, so why do you need to send an invoice. Just as ebay advise buyers in the UK how much to pay, they do the same for buyers in the USA. Only time seller needs to send an edited invoice would be to combine more than one purchase.

Re: Cannot send an invoice to Buyer as I get the message that buyer is on a banned counties list

Appreciate your reply John,

I always send an invoice to my buyers, as a courtesy. In this case the item sold for less than expected and I wanted to change the International Postage rate that was automatically charged down from £10.. to the standard rate of £4.50.

I have never encountered the problem I had on this occasion when hitting the send invoice button and getting the message shown in the picture file attached to this message. As previously stated I have posted umpteen items to the USA before as it is obviously not on my banned countries list. eBay needs to look into this, as I have not altered any of my settings.

A way round would be for the buyer to pay the £10 postage and then you refund the difference.

That's assuming they can pay through checkout of course.

Re: Cannot send an invoice to Buyer as I get the message that buyer is on a banned counties list

Thank you Papso22,

I was intending to do this if and when they paid me, but it in no way answers the basic problem of the banned country message, when trying to invoice my buyer, which, by the way I have given up on in this instance.

If this is not investigated by eBay it could mean that I, or other sellers, encounter the same problem whenever or wherever we try to invoice an overseas buyer in the future. After all, it is not our job to find solutions or ways around  problems that should not arise in the first place, if eBay are doing things as they should.
