Can't withdraw. Button greyed out.

Sold an item for £331 > waited for funds to become available (2 days) > funds became available in my balance > eBay won't let me withdraw it. > Called eBay and woman confirmed there are no issues with my account and no funds on hold. They're looking into it and for now I just have to wait. > Did a Google and found others with this problem but no one has a fix. Some had the problem resolved randomly after a few days. Others have been waiting for more than 30 days and the problem is still unresolved.

Tried: Using app > using desktop site > using different WiFi network (I know it wouldn't make a difference but I figured just in case it was linked to some kind of IP ban for some unknown reason) > signed in and out > nothing works.

Very conveniently for eBay...the money can be used for purchases on eBay. It just can't be withdrawn because the "Withdraw" button is greyed out and can't be clicked.

Re: Can't withdraw. Button greyed out.

As long as there is no initial hold on your payout,  that is,  if you are a new or returning seller, proceed this way below.

Strangely some members have found this works on some devices and not on others,  so worth trying on apps / PC and laptops use Chrome, until you find the combination that works for you.

Click on Payments >>  Summary then any payout available for immediate withdrawal,  is available for you, in a big blue banner.

Click on the  >  arrow,   top right you may need to log in again, or even verify your account by receiving a text or email code.

Your eBay  balance will show at the top, click on withdraw bottom right.

On the pop up screen which appears, at the top,  there's a large,  bolder £ sign, and flashing sign beside it.  There,  you add the amount you wish to withdraw. At the bottom.... Withdraw  £*** Now click on this.

A notification appears... Your Money is on its Way.  Click on this and then on Done.

Money is then sent to your nominated bank account and it will depend on your banks processing times,  as to when you are able to withdraw the money.  Some banks are faster than others.

It could also be a temporary site glitch so may be worth trying a little later in the day,  too.

Doesn't work. I see the funds in the big blue banner. When I click it, it shows "Withdraw" greyed out.

When I use a desktop it's even worse. The blue banner showing the funds isn't even there.

Re: Can't withdraw. Button greyed out.

You do not click on the Withdraw at that point, as I explained in my post above, there , on that big blue banner click on the arrow on the right.

You may be asked to verify your account again. Once verified a pop up appears at the top with bigger darker £  add the amount you wish to withdraw,  then at the bottom that withdraw button will light up for you to click on.

Perhaps use a laptop / PC with Chrome not the app or mobile browser

Re: Can't withdraw. Button greyed out.

I already did that. I've just posted three pictures above.

1. The blue banner page.

2. The page after I press the arrow. "Withdraw" in grey.

3. The Desktop site in Accounts > Payments, where the balance doesn't even show at all.

Nothing happens when I press the arrow except for it taking me to that page with the greyed out Withdraw button. That's what I've been trying to say. Not even eBay have the answers it just doesn't work.

I'm not inclined to believe conspiracies but I've heard about how eBay earn money from interest on balances held with them. This funds their investments. I've read that eBay target a small percentage of sellers at random who have made big sales (not too many that it becomes a widespread problem) to prevent them from withdrawing so they can make more interest before certain dates. It sounds ridiculous but then again it doesn't because by process of elimination: there's nothing wrong with my account. I've made no changes - same bank same everything. There's no technical issue such as an outage that would affect everyone / a specific region. It honestly just appears to be a function that has been switched off.

Re: Can't withdraw. Button greyed out.

No, it's no conspiracy,  someone else has just posted the same issue.

Truly , try this again a little later on,   it is worth trying on different device and browsers, and you will find it suddenly works.

Frustrating,  I agree,  but these temp site tech issues are becoming more frequent!

Re: Can't withdraw. Button greyed out.

Just to point out that whatever you may think, ebay is not allowed to earn intrrest on what is termed Electronic Money.

The problem is just another of ebay’s many glitches, which they do not seem to fix because they are too busy introducing other money making schemes.

Re: Can't withdraw. Button greyed out.

Hi All,

Thank you for your posts.

We have received other reports of this issue this morning and there is an open ticket  with tech who are currently working on it to resolve. I'll add your accounts to the ticket and once there is a further update on the fix I will post back.

Thank you,

Kat

Re: Can't withdraw. Button greyed out.

Update: The withdraw button is finally blue, not grey. For anyone who has the same problem reading this in the future, I don't know what the solution was other than just calling eBay (or having them call you which in itself was difficult as I got trapped in the A.I chatbot cycle) and logging the problem. Don't think I'll be using eBay again though as I'm generally tired of the platform.

Re: Can't withdraw. Button greyed out.

Hi All,

Hi All,

Tech have confirmed this issue as resolved. If your withdraw button is still showing as greyed out please delete cache and cookies and load the page again.

As this also impacted scheduled payouts for yesterday if you still have not received this then you can select the on demand option.

Thank you,

Kat
