Can eBay step in after 30 days?

Hi,

I sold an item on here well over 30 days ago. The buyer has messaged me a couple of times but I have yet to respond. They have now sent a refund request. If I decline this, will they be able to ask eBay to step in?

It shouldn't be possible to escalate to ebay after 30 days but doing nothing might be the best policy.

If they opened the case less than 30 days past the item's last estimated date for delivery,  then they will be able to escalate the case.

If this time has lapsed they can perhaps open the case but will not be able to ask eBay to step in.

These cases are timed to the very second.

Thank you. This is the email I received. It makes it seem as though they would be able to ask eBay to step in?

That certainly looks like the item is still covered by the Money Back guarantee so it may be best to accept the return.
