Can anyone tell me how to report the delivery of incorrect goods, in order to get them exchanged for the item I ordered. I have wrestled with the 'automated assistant' for the last hour and it is hopeless. One would think that a company as big as Ebay would have installed some AI. They sent me an email from a @no-reply' address so I can't explain the problem. Can anyone help?

You do not need AI or even eBay Customer Services, just follow eBay's 30 day MBG, Money Back Guarantee, written on right hand side of every listing. Proceed this way now.
You have received an item not as described, so you are guaranteed a full refund under eBay's 30 day MBG, Money Back Guarantee policy, if you claim within 30 days of the item's last estimated date for delivery.
You then go right of the item in your Purchase History, and from More Actions select Return this item, selecting the reason... Item Does not Match Descripiton or Photos.
The seller has 3 days to accept the case, if they don't , you need to escalate on day 4, or within 30 days, and eBay will step in and force the refund.
If the seller wants the item back first, they need to pay for a fully tracked return postage. On receipt of their item they have 48 hours to refund you. Again, if they don't, you escalate the case.
Do not close the case early for any excuse or promise the seller may give, and do not forget to escalate.
It's always best to receive a full refund and then buy the correct item, as then you have buyer protection on the new purchase.

eBay won't get involved with an exchange. You have to open a return and get a refund. If you want to risk buying again to get the correct item that would be up to you.
So click on "Return this item" on right of your order on your Purchases page and select "Doesn't match description" as the reason. Escalate it to ebay after 3 complete working days. You will be issued with a paid-for return postage label and your money will be refunded after the item arrives back with the seller.
If the seller asks you to close the case and promises to send correct one - don't do that. You won't be able to open another one. See it through to the end and take it from there.
