Buying memory products from China

Yesterday, I ordered four 2TB micro SD cards for approximately €80.

We all know the risks of buying memory products from sellers in China—the chances of being scammed are high, but the prices are very tempting. My advice: don't take the risk unless you're paying with PayPal. Chargebacks via banks can be a long and frustrating process, though I've managed to succeed with them in the past.

This time, I decided to take a different approach. After placing my order, I immediately messaged the seller, asking them to confidently confirm that the memory cards were fully up to the specifications described in the listing and photos.

By the next morning, I received a notification of a full refund. Clearly, the seller wasn’t willing (or able) to provide the assurance I requested. It seems they backed out of trying to scam me.

I believe eBay should introduce some form of quality assurance guarantee for memory products to help eliminate these scams rather than allow them to continue.

Re: Buying memory products from China

eBay cannot offer  a quality reassurance'  to do that they'd have to see the actual items for the  to pass their quality assurance test.

eBay offers their 30 day MBG,  Money back Guarantee written on every right hand side of listings.  If anyone buys a counterfeit an item which is not as described.  If the seller refuses to send a prepaid label to have the item sent back,   the buyer can either escalate to eBay on day 4 for a refund, or if the address sent is incorrect you contact eBay Customer Services to provide a correct label.

Buying anywhere online you run the risk of buying a counterfeit item, eBay at least,  has their MBG protection.

Please remember when taking or giving advice here that these are the UK boards and you are in Slovakia.

What you want eBay to introduce is impossible as eBay are only a selling platform for others and eBay never see the items.

Regarding PayPal, in what way is their not as described protection better than eBay's money back guarantee?
